| Praise and worship at retreat |
If I told you 800 college students took the long weekend to get away and worship Jesus, would you believe me? I don’t know if I would have believed me if you asked me that a couple months ago! But guess what, it happened. What a slice of heaven to be worshipping and learning and playing together for the 4 days of Winter Retreat.
Marty Solomon from the BEMA podcast came and shared with our students! I’ve linked a video tothe sessions if you wanted to watch all of them you can click HERE. He talked about living out of belovedness and how we see the story of God unfolding through the stories of Genesis. He reminded us to trust the story of what God has been doing throughout history.

“I am not loved and valued because what I do and produce today. Should I fail in large or small ways, it will not affect my worth. I am simply beloved” I’ve been ruminating on this since retreat. Do I believe this? Do you? More often than not, I am motivated by fear of letting God and others down. I want this year to be marked by moving out of love instead of fear and insecurity. I pray the same for you!!
Some other cool things in Denton are my fojs! I always love studying the Bible with students but Focus on Jesus (foj) is one of my favorite things we do. I love to see how much God can change and shape people in such a short time. Pray for these girls that they continue to internalize the good news and share it with others. We’re also starting to think about who we’re going to send to our leadership conference in May so prayers that we have discernment with that! As well, a friend and I are staying a Bible study at a local coffee shop so prayers for that!! Other prayers I'm praying that I would love others to come alongside us in: a couple students with serious reoccurring health concerns, a student who's lost everything, the heart hearted family members of a student, that the Lord would bless us with another child, for continued growth and depth in our ministry.
Thank you so much for your support of God’s work here in Denton. Thank you for partnering with me financially and in prayer. Drew and I are so thankful for what we’ve been given every day. I’d love prayers as we continue to fundraise — I’m about $300 away from my goal and would love to make up that shortfall. Would you join me in praying to reach my goal? And if you know of anyone who might be excited about college missions and supporting a missionary, I would love to connect with them. I look forward to hearing from you!
