October update

 October is nearly over! God has been present with us in Denton! It’s been really sweet in ministry this last month. 

The big things were fall retreat and Elias’s first birthday party! I can’t believe he’s a year old now! I am no grateful to be in a community with so many people who love on my son and I! Students and family and friends alike! I’m so blessed to be loved like this. Elias gets to grow up around people who really love people and Jesus. 

Fall retreat was a huge success! I was in the hospital last year with Elias and wasn’t able to go. But this year, people came out in droves! We talked about moving from a me to we mindset. When we first come into church, we are consumers, thinking about what we want and need. But as we begin to mature, we become more we focused, thinking about what the community needs. And that is such a blessing to be a part of, a community of people looking out for each other, but also stories from our students about how God has changed them to be outwards focused. I am encouraged to see what God is doing here. I am so glad I found a ministry that loves God and others well. I can’t imagine being anywhere else. Prayers for wisdom as we love and pastor these college students
